Hello my World of Models family. I´m proud to present the interview with 2 terrific guys and their awesome online publications. And it´s been keeping me inspired with such dedication and professionalism through the last decade and I´m really excited about their upcoming projects. Just to have you guys an idea, Ohlala mag, one of their online publications, has become the number one place on internet for photographers and new models to get noticed and launch their careers. Ladies and gentlemen, join the Alek and Steph´s world!
Yugoslavia and France, where it all began We have been together for almost 11 years now but before that we were not even in the same country. Steph is coming from Toulouse in the South of France and I am coming from what was once Yugoslavia and today is Serbia. We have met in Paris in 1999 where Steph moved to work for Air France and I moved to get my MBA. Since, we are having an amazing life of travel excitements, amazing friends and full selfless love. We love art and architecture, fashion and cinema, and are always trying to navigate in those waters. Steph is a painter and we work together as photographer duo. The success of a partnership! Ohlalamag started as a journal where we were writing about things we like and shared it with our friends and family but than we have noticed that others were reading, this was 2003 (when very few people knew what a blog was). Than we have realized that thousands of people were reading daily our adventures which gave us a freedom to explore our creativity in some new concepts, like www.outnext.com www.manchic.com and www.angelglam.com . But we did not stop there as we believe that we live in the world that is constantly evolving and that is what we try to do. OhlalaMag.com has become the number one place on internet for photographers and new models to get noticed and launch their careers. Than we wanted even a better outlet to show of what the future of magazine will be and that is how we started www.bellomag.com 2 years ago, and first iPhone iPod Touch photography magazine some weeks ago, called ADONIS mag (which we believe is the future of publishing).
Our readers were always the reason we kept doing all of this. By being a gay couple that is living their love freely we became an example to many around the world, and we get e-mails on daily bases from many that are not as lucky as us to live in cities where being gay is not seen as a handicap. We have been touched many times by sad stories, from kids that find in ohlala a window into a world where they feel free to be who they are. The photography of Alek and Steph We leave scouting to professionals, it is not an easy thing to have people mistakenly take you for a pervert, lol. We get most of our models from the agencies, but we must admit that some of the most beautiful people, we have met riding a subway in Paris or waking at the beach in L.A. Taking a photo is a creative process and it is always an interesting journey. Most of the time the result has little to do with the idea as when you work with amazing models and actors they bring the magic to the image that no amount of retouching or makeup or light can bring...
Show biz, fame, success: "We can all change the world on our own level" Show biz ? Well we live in the capital of show business now, Hollywood. But as strange as this might seem we are really not impressed by it or even accept to play the game of fame. Different people choose different roads how to achieve what they dream about. We met many people that are considered famous but they are nothing more or less than us or you or anyone else... They have just been working really hard to get where they are or they have been really lucky (and most often the right mix of both). The only thing that the fame is good for is that it gives you the power to change things, but than we can all change the world on our own level. We always get really shy when someone recognize us. Most of the time we forget that there are millions of people reading what we write, and sometimes they even know better what we do than us. We have so many projects and blogging is only one of them but it is the one thing people know us by. What we love when someonerecognize us is that we get to meet those that are at the other side of the screen, so that moment becomes all about them not us :-) Beauty and Elegance: a world obsessed by looks
We live in a world that is obsessed by looks, and yes you have to be really beautiful and/or talented if you want to be in fashion & entertainment, but it is not the only way. We are far from being models and we have created amazing lives for ourselves, ... It is important to make the best out of everything you start in your life, and take care of yourself and those around you. It is all about people that you surround your self with, and we are not talking networking we are talking friends and the family you are creating for your self. Beauty can be a curs and a blessing , but the ultimate goal is in finding a right balance. And there are so may beauties out there , and not only one like medias would like us to believe... Human Rights, Freedin of Speech Oh please do not get us started. I come from Serbia and it was a communist country back than. Than we have lived in France and now we live in USA. The differences are enormous, and all places have their good and bad sides. We are happy how fast the gay rights are advancing (even though they are moving at difference pace in different parts of the world) but we still feel really positive about it. Freedom of speech is the most misunderstood concept of this century. Freedom of speech would be a great thing if human race would not use it to advance hatred and extremism. We live in the world of many misconceptions but the biggest one is that when we have a freedom of speech we have a right to hurt, fight and destroy others.

Well there is a new project that we are woking on hoping that it will change the world. We can not say a lot now except that it is bringing education and entertainment together. We are passionate about reinventing things and we will never stop dreaming. And one of our dreams is to go back to Brazil really soon :-) See you there.
