Hey guys, I´m Dangelo Peixer, 31 years old, I was born in Joinville-SC Brazil and agent/owner of DF Model, founded in 2000. I always enjoyed the world of models and before DF Model, I was a former model during 5 years. I decided to become an owner of a model agency because I was not happy the way the agencies were managed when I work as a model, so I decided to develop my own concept of management: a professional staff working with cool models. We don´t simply wait for the phone calling or that a person comes to visit us. Here in the agency, the motto is: always looking for new faces. That´s my teamwork and they are also my co-owners too!
I see the fashion world as a business and I leave the glamurous side to my models. Due the worldwide crisis, this imternational market changed its strategies and they don´t really want to waste time. In other words, they don´t want anymore that lean and weird female model nor that androgynous male model. Izabeli Fontana is a terrifc example of a model that fashion world look for: she is beautiful, tall, classy and stylish. Crisis in brazilian fashion business?
The worldwide crisis had a low impact in the brazilian fashion business and in a short period of time (it lasted from October 2008 until March 2009), but in Europe and America things are still very serious. Models who are abroad are complaining about it, but as a owner of a brazilian model agency, located in Brazil, I can tell you guys: this is a very special moment for us and I advise the models to stay in Brazil. There are lots of fashion campains going on. We never worked with so many job opportunities before. This is the time!
Since 1995, I´ve been checking the in and outs on fashion trends and it´s interesting to see that many designers present their creations with an inspiration from the past, but of course with a new and fresh approach. That´s what make fashion a real exciting and fascinating world
A strong career planning for the models Here in the agency, we have a strong career planning for every model. First we introduced them to the local market. We prepare them for a professional career as a model before lauching them to international market and this preparation includes the psychological assistance too. As we know, the model has a short career, so we understand that it´s very important that they have to be surrounded by serious and professional people that will do the best strategy for a successfull career. Tips and final comments Always seek for serious and professional agencies in your area, find out if the agencies have a strong profile. Never ever believe in that story of "take the bus to São Paulo" without really know about who is behind of this invitation. Today we have a powerful tool of research: the internet, so don´t get in trouble
