New York photographer Justin Lopez (pictured right): inspired by GOD´S creation

by Edward with Justin

New York City has taught me how to dream, but it doesn’t stop there it has also taught me how to execute my dreams

My full name is Justin Jake Lopez, I’m 24 years old, born and raised in New York City, NY. I have a Bachelor in Science from the School of Business at Nyack College. Field of Study was accounting. Being raised in the largest creative melting pot in the world has been no easy task. Though it may sound nice saying I have an Accounting degree I hate every minute of it. I was born to create not to waste my life behind a desk. New York City has taught me how to dream, but it doesn’t stop there it has also taught me how to execute my dreams. I met a young man by the name of Timothy Rosado who turned my world around, while I was searching for my finance jobs and accounting jobs he was inviting me out to his photo shoots and exposing me to a world I only dreamed of working in. Where everyone showed there creative potential and it was phenomenal to see. So after a year of meeting people such as Makeup artist Theresa Francine, Wardrobe stylist Juan Vargas Model Shaun Ross I bought a camera and just three months ago I began shooting.

Inspired by God´s creation

I started shooting my friend and model Teemo and saw that I had a good eye for shooting men. So I began my search for models and interestingly enough more male models requested me then female models. So, my style developed from my own creative mindset, which is inspired by GOD’s creation and second my love for GOD.My biggest influences are personal to me. I love humanity. I believe by understanding the heart of humanity you can draw or capture a picture that captivates the human spirit.

The digital era X World Economic crisis

The digital era has helped young photographers to start. But when an underdeveloped yet very talented photographer believes that he/she does not need to understand the history or the technicalities of their craft that’s were they will fail. The Digital era is an unstoppable force that will continue to make the industry faster and more efficient. But it will never take away from the artistic value of the classic film camera.Photography is an adjustable industry that can move with the market better then any other industry. The problem with the Photography market is there are too many self-proclaimed fashion photographers and photographers who can’t shoot and rip people off, which make it harder for talented individuals to do the job they were born to do. I have been blessed enough to meet my mentor and good Friend David Gensler, President of the Keystone Design Union (The KDU), who has shaped and developed my gifting. Through him I have been offered great opportunities like working with artist Linkin Park and Ryan Leslie as well as major brands like Nike, Reebok, LVMH Hennessy, and 361. I’m young and I’ve been shooting for only 16 weeks but my work says otherwise.

Special moments and a cool partnership with models

I’m happy to say I get one of those moments with every shoot that I engage in. It brings such a smile to my face and a joy in my heart cause I can see the fulfillment of my purpose and the beautiful of GOD’s creation. I have worked with some of the best models. My first Agency Model (B1 Model management) Donovan Blyden has beautiful ethic vibe and a great personality. I have worked with Lee Kholafai and Joshua Yajacaji from Major Model Management. Lee is a true gem and hooked me up big time. Josh was awesome. He gave me some work out tips. Shaun Ross is the first albino male model.HHeis a great friend with a look that kills. There are many more: Vincent Fanwick, Julius Leonard (Virgin Islands), Elias Montalvo, Oliver Ayling (London) Teemo, Viktoria Skara (Sweden), and Scotch Cox the list goes on I love them all and they have truly become friends to me. Thank you guys and girls.

The partnership works in vise versa cause I look at it as they help me. So I humbled when I can help someone but it is so
gratifying to know that I helped him or her too. I still talk to all the models I have worked with because I like to know about their progress.

An unforgettable moment: The best moment of my career has been seeing the journey come to life in such a short time. 3 months of photography and I’m at this point I can’t wait to see where Ill be in 5 years.

From Editorials, Commercials, and Celebrities to Brands, Look books, and Large Stage Productions (Events). I want to do it all. I have a few lines of Designer look books that I will be photographing.I hope to get good enough exposure to shoot my first of many Campaigns.
