Thaysse Ricci: the new generation of brazilian models

by Edward with Thaysse

My name is Thaysse Ricci, I'm 18 years old and I'm from Brazil! Well, about me, I can say that I'm a really "up" person, I always try to see the good and positive things on everything even in bad moments. I'm from Campo Grande MS http://www.pmcg.ms.gov.br/, I love my hometown so much, and of course "there's not a place like home". I've been modeling for almost 4 years already, but i started traveling when I was 16. The modeling was a surprise for me, I did a casting not expecting anything, just because "my mom told me to"...the old story! But it worked realy well! It was or an international casting and in the same year I was invited to go to China. But I was 14, so I didn't go. I wasn't really psychologically ready for this.I was a kid and throw myself to the world would be really hard! So I studied during 2 years more and with 16 I had my first trip to NY! Like I told you before,it was awesome and I loved so much, now I just don't wanna stop! I did my first shooting with Felipe Lessa, a terrific photographer and really nice guy! It was fun, i enjoyed a lot! I'm in Tokyo now and I'll stay here until the end of november.

I'm not sure what comes next, maybe I go back to Paris or come back to Brazil to spend Christmas at home. The best thing about modeling is to be able to know other countries, their cultures, languages and meet new people everyday. Models learn how to live by themselves, have more control on their expenses be an open minded person and also learn how to be patient. That's what all models must understand cause there's so many things happening at the same time, and we really have to know how to handle with these situations. Keep your mind focused and be safe! Besides Tokyo, NY and Paris, I´ve already been to Milan and Seoul. I had amazing experiences in all those countries, I made really good friends and I´ve learned so many things that I'll take for my all life! For now i just wanna keep modeling, for sure and go to college. I´m thinking about study psychology or marine biology or maybe both of them! But I really ove modeling and I wanna keep doing it for a long long time! Cause life is short and I wanna enjoy it the best way I can!

Working with the photographers, dancing in the wood!

Each photographer got an unique style, different ideas about what they want and what they like to shoot. I enjoy when I need to do really crazy pictures with a lot of jumping, energy, running or even flying by cables. It's always fun and of course
when the photographer is nice everything runs fine! Actually I don't have any previous preparation. O´ve learned that when
you take a picture you do just like acting. you are a character and then you do your best in every shooting. I had a job once, the photographer was so crazy, we were going to shoot in a wood at night. The story was about 3 witches that were doing some kind of "magic", so we had to dance so crazy and so weird! funny! We had to dance holding cards and jumping, doing things like if we were going to break our bodies. We were in the middle of a wood, everybody was so scared, and all the time there were some noises and we started to scream thinking that could be some animal or something worse! It was impossible to concentrate on the shooting even with the assistants and the slytist nearby. But It was really fun after all!

Runways, the Fashionista and Show Business

I love runways, we have real good time. The backstage is the best part of the show, everybody has so much fun. We play and do stupid things and take funny pics! Last year I did Dkny show in NY and Tokyo and also Lanvin and GAP. Both were really nice shows and great days! Hmm fashionista? Well, not that much. I just try to get dressed according the fashion market of each country Im working on For example. Tokyo got a different fashion style comparing to NY or Paris. When I'm not modeling I like to wear comfortable clothes: T-shirt, jeans and a good pair of Converse are perfect for me. Show business is huge. In the past I couldn´t understand it but now I see how big and exciting it is. Someone might think that ´s easy, but it´s really now. There are so many details we can´t even imagine. People work hard, but in the end you can see the result. It´s worth and reall cool.

Thaysse by herself

What if you were a übber international model and a huge crowd gets wild to you for an autography?
Wow! It never happened to me before, but I think I would just stop and I´d take pics with the people, if that's what they would want. There are so many famous people that forget what they are and don't like to even stop for autographs or photos.I think this is the part of the game. You pay the price for being famous and these people are famous thanks to the fans that
really love them. But you mean a huge crowd getting wild over me? Hmmm, I would hide myself somewhere hahahahaha!!!

Human Rights and Sexual Behavior: Nowdays people are getting crazy, I mean there's so many things going on now with Nature, people´s problems, disasters, economy and some people just forget about it and really dosen't care about others. They just care about themselves. This really makes me so crazy! I see people doing bad things, others just want to fight for nothing, sometimes people forget about the meaning of freedom.Let´s make a better world and help each other. Concerning sexual behavior, I don't have anything against it, People are free to choose their sexual preferences and everyone has the right to be happy. The only thing I keep telling everyone is "Peace out"
Her way to atract someone´s attention: Be myself
Having fun, the places she goes and enjoy the best of life: Having fun is easy, just depends the people you are with, it could
be in a club , in a beach or even in the street. If you are with nice people, you´ll have a real good time. I just enjoy everyday as if it was the last one
The craziest (nastiest?) thing shes ever done in a summer time season: Bungee Jump! I did it in Korea this year, it was the most fun, crazy and the best feeling I ever had. Also last year I went to Porto Porto Seguro BA with my brother and 3 best friends, it was sooooo crazy! We rent a car and jammed on the sand, we punctured the tire. It was so crazy!
Fav food: My mom's lasagna
Fav body part and why: eyes, you can see a lot from a person through their eyes
Fav singer and which music she hears in her IPOD: Snow Patrol and Beatles are the best ones for me, both got great
lyrics, that's what I most like in a song! I also have all the kinds, but the best ones are the old songs like Elvis, Beatles, Queen. But i also country music (for sure), and rock of course!

An unforgettable moment: My first trip when I got in the plane. I was so afraid about what would happen with m that I thought to myself "That's it. There's no way back now, I have to face it and I'll survive", and I did. Today I'm here, happy with this crazy model life!
Main motto: "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."
